I have joined a great group of jewelers on Flickr who are making a ring a day for the whole year. The rings can be made from anything and creativity is encouraged.

This is Ring number 163. It is handmade in sterling silver and then blackened.

Featured Artist: Laura Flavin, modernbird

My creation

I have been wanting to feature other peoples work on my blog for a while now. And today I am starting it. I hope this to be a once a week feature.

The first Artist is my dear friend Laura Flavin, aka modernbird . Her metalwork is beautiful. She features in her jewelry sweet birds as well as beautiful flowers and other nature-themed work. She is a wonderful friend. And her work is truly inspiring!

Ring a Day. Flower Ring on sterling silver band. The band is formed in the shape of a petal and then a hole is drilled at the point to fit the flower through it.

Beautiful Sunflower. Beautiful Day.

Beautiful Sunflower. Beautiful Day.

Yesterday, my daughter and I drove an hour away to the Sunflower Maze. It was beautiful and we had a wonderful day getting away and just playing. She swung in the tree swing and could have for hours.  I enjoyed taking pictures of the sunflowers and being away from work and my worries for a day.
