Crislip Arcade on the 600 Block

I moved into the Crislip Arcade of the 600 Block in St Petersburg (Florida) late last year. It is a beautiful long hallway full of history. Many wonderful shops were there before ours. Built in the 1920's the arcade is one of 3 left remaining in downtown St Petersburg. Being down there I get to hear the stories of people stopping in anxious to tell us about how it used to be. Recently, some new tenants have moved in and created a new energy in the arcade and I am so happy about that. There is always something going on at the 600 Block. There is music, Art shows, and the Gallery Walks once a month ( the second Saturday of the month). It is a wonderful place to be and to meet new people. AND the creative energy is amazing! I feel fortunate to be a part of the Arcade and the 600 Block! It is a great community of artists!
Jennifer is the owner of Eve-n-Odd Gallery which is a wonderful whimsical gallery that you could spend hours in looking at all the artwork.
And her work is amazing! I hope to one day own a piece of her paintings. I do have these two great little wooden figures.
Rosey is the owner of Ramblin' Rose. It is a wonderfully eclectic shop full of Vintage finds. Her shop is full of wonderful treasures. I have spotted a few floral vintage pins and dresses I would love to own!

Cheryl moved in last Saturday! Her gallery, Olio Gallery is simply beautiful. I am so happy to have her as my next door neighbor. Her paintings are amazing as you can see in the photo. Her use of bold colors create such a beautiful effect.
Join the Crislip Art revolution!!!!

Cherry Blossoms for Disaster Relief in Japan

I created these handmade sterling silver cherry blossom bangles on Monday in wake of the devastating earthquake and tsunami in Japan. I was saddened by the events and wanted to do something to help. I spent my day at my workbench making these cherry blossom bangles and rings to donate to the The Red Cross. 50% of the proceeds from the sale of these bangles and my cherry blossom rings will be donated to the The Red Cross.

Through March 31st, 25% of all other sales in my shop will be donated to The Red Cross disaster relief for Japan also. You can visit my shop here: kathryncole.etsy.com

In Japan cherry blossoms are held in the highest esteem. As the season of cherry blossoms blooming are so short, cherry blossoms represent the beautiful, but transient nature of our lives.
