Moveable Type Truck comes to St Pete!

The Moveable Type truck came to St Pete! We had so much fun visiting it. Kyle Durrie, the owner and artist is lovely. She made the experience wonderful. She welcomed us in her small space as if we had known her for years. I walked in amazed and inspired by the truck and her! The space she has created is inviting and perfect.  My daughter was instantly comfortable and wanting to create something. She helped Kyle spread the ink on the type to get it ready to print.  She was so excited about it. And I loved watching her amazement. We got to take home our creation, a print of St Petersburg Type Truck!

On Kyle's blog, she says her two favorite things are printing and road trips. She has created a life around these two things that fit perfectly together.
Kyle has traveled all over the US and some parts of Canada with her Moveable Type Truck. If she is going to be in your area, you HAVE to visit her and her truck.
Happy Printing!

Dali Museum

Tonight is the Dali Museum Getting Social Event. I really wanted to go, but can't. My "Little bit" (daughter) is sick so I can't go. I thought I'd post some pictures of the Museum for those of you who don't live in St Pete. The Museum is awesome! It's a must-see.

Etsymetal Blog Carnival:Studio/Shop Tour

"EtsyMetal Blog Carnival"
Topic: "Etsy Metal Studio Tour"
Show us where you work!
Describe what you love about your work space and/or any changes you would like to make in the future.

Above (and below) are pictures of where I work. It is my studio and shop. And I love it. I love it because of the creative energy in the arcade. It is located in the Crislip Arcade in downtown St. Petersburg, Florida. All along the hallway are shops and galleries. It is a wonderful space. I have only been here since November so it is still a work in progress for me. There are many things I would love to change, but it takes time to get it exactly how you would like I think. My shop in Colorado (that I had for nine years) was always changing.  I would like to get more shelves to organize my tools. And I would love to have more artwork on the walls. As far as tools, there is a long list of new tools that I would love to have.

Please stop by if you are ever in St Petersburg! And please take a look everyone's blogs to see their studios.

Crislip Arcade on the 600 Block

I moved into the Crislip Arcade of the 600 Block in St Petersburg (Florida) late last year. It is a beautiful long hallway full of history. Many wonderful shops were there before ours. Built in the 1920's the arcade is one of 3 left remaining in downtown St Petersburg. Being down there I get to hear the stories of people stopping in anxious to tell us about how it used to be. Recently, some new tenants have moved in and created a new energy in the arcade and I am so happy about that. There is always something going on at the 600 Block. There is music, Art shows, and the Gallery Walks once a month ( the second Saturday of the month). It is a wonderful place to be and to meet new people. AND the creative energy is amazing! I feel fortunate to be a part of the Arcade and the 600 Block! It is a great community of artists!
Jennifer is the owner of Eve-n-Odd Gallery which is a wonderful whimsical gallery that you could spend hours in looking at all the artwork.
And her work is amazing! I hope to one day own a piece of her paintings. I do have these two great little wooden figures.
Rosey is the owner of Ramblin' Rose. It is a wonderfully eclectic shop full of Vintage finds. Her shop is full of wonderful treasures. I have spotted a few floral vintage pins and dresses I would love to own!

Cheryl moved in last Saturday! Her gallery, Olio Gallery is simply beautiful. I am so happy to have her as my next door neighbor. Her paintings are amazing as you can see in the photo. Her use of bold colors create such a beautiful effect.
Join the Crislip Art revolution!!!!
