I have been inspired by Shannon's (Rubygirl) sandcasting since the beginning of RAD. Many, many months ago, I bought a sandcasting set, but my torch just didn't heat up the silver enough. Today I went to Williams-Sonoma and bought one of those Butane torches and it worked!!! Hooray! This was my second shell I cast...I kept the first shell to make a necklace out of....I cast 5 shells today!!!!! This one has some imperfections, but still turned out pretty good. The shell was found at Pass-A-Grille Beach here. The bottom of it was actually prettier. I am excited to continue to learn about sandcasting and cast my finds from nature.
