Ocean Sounds

I made this video of the Ocean on Sunday to share. There were only a few people at the beach that day. It was windy and cold, but the water was beautiful. The sun hit it perfectly and it sparkled. It was perfect. Enjoy!

New Year...Imagine the possibilities

I hope you a settling into the new year and the routine of your days. It took me all this week to get used to our routine again.
It's been tough after a nice two weeks off with the little one. I enjoyed my time with her.

With the New Year comes resolutions.
Little bit came home from school yesterday with her New Years resolution. It was to ride her bike without my help. Her resolution will go perfectly with mine. I don't usually do resolutions (I never have), but this year I wanted to try to take the time to notice the little things more and appreciate them. And I have decided to embark on another 365 project, but this time it is a photo a day instead of the crazy RING A DAY. This project will go perfectly with my intention of enjoying each day more. I will try to take my camera with me more often. It tends to sit in my studio ready to take pictures of jewelry. My photos will be posted on my flickr page.

So to kick off our resolutions, we went for a walk last night. I walked with my camera in hand, she rode. We made progress. I only helped with a push up the hills (of Florida) about half the time. I took pictures. I got a few I was happy with. She was happy with riding her bike. It was a lovely time.

With the new year I hope you reflect on what you want for it.
Imagine the possibilities...and make them happen. My word for 2012 is
Happy Friday~Kathryn

Beach Finds

I am enjoying fall in Florida! I get to go to the beach and sit and sort through thousands of shells. I am so inspired by the shells and I love to add to my collection. Last weekend I forgot to bring my camera though. But I had my phone and got a couple of pictures of the thousands of shells at the beach.

And then I took pictures of my finds when I got home.

A friend of mine has been asking for some shells for a while now. I am going to finally surprise her with a bag of them.

Enjoy your weekend! I hope it is a lovely one.
And have a Happy Halloween!

xoxo, Kat

Beach Day Photos

Yesterday we went to the beach. That is usually our Sunday ritual.
We have a late breakfast and then spend some time walking around at the beach. It's still very hot here so we had to go swimming also.
The beach was beautiful. The water was calm and clear where you could see your feet and fish swimming by.
And there were thousands of tiny shells for us to sift through.
We floated and relaxed in the ocean.
The water was perfectly warm.
It was very nice to just spend some time at the beach listening to the water roll in and look up at the fluffy clouds as we floated. And it was wonderful to look through the shells. I brought home a tiny bucket full of my finds.

We also shared an shaved ice...it was pink and orange and very yummy!
I took pictures of my shells when we got home to share with you.

And that was our day. Very relaxing. What did you do?

New Work Preview

"Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage." Anais Nin
I feel like this is my mantra for this year.
I think about this quote daily.

I know many courageous women in my life and I am blessed to have them as a part of my life, new friends and old.
They inspire me.
I am very blessed to be surrounded by amazing creative women who dare to dream each day.
There are others who are beautiful teachers and beautiful people inside and out that I am fortunate to know and have in my life.
Still others are amazing Mother's teaching their children to be wonderful souls.
And some I know are combinations of all of these traits.

Inspired by the beautiful turquoise stones, the Anais Nin quote and amazing strong women in my life, I created two new rings in sterling silver. The settings are completely made by hand and decorated with a sterling silver flower and wrapped with a beautiful vine

and a butterfly.

Flowers represent to me your own unique beauty. Each flower is different and one of a kind as are each of you.

And butterflies represent your beauty within. And the struggles and transformation that we go through to get to where you are in your life. And the courage to continue on without knowing what the future holds for us.

My shell series is, of course, inspired by the beach! The ocean calms me. I love sitting on the beach and looking for shells. It has a way of bringing me into the present moment. These shells are handcast in sterling silver. Each one is cast by hand from a shell I found here in Florida or one I bought at the local shell shop.

I will be listing most of these today and tomorrow.
A few of the shells are already spoken for.
I hope you have a nice day!

Beautiful Beach

A beautiful day at the beach.
Gorgeous flowers
Two shadows.
We could not figure out why Sophia had two shadows this day. The sun must have been reflecting off of the building somehow and creating a second shadow...
